How do you clean electotro plated nickel?
I have a salt and pepper set that was handed down from my husbands grandfather. It is quite nice but I am sure it would be nicer if I could clean it. I thinki t was made in the 1920's.
Answer:
nickel prior to 1928 was the norm, after that chrome was used on top of nickel to stop it from tarnishing, so i suggest that you bring the set up to a shine and then paint a lacquer of sorts over it to stop the tarnish. one other thought,what you might think was nickel could quite possibly be silver, that also tarnishes , so take it to a plating shop to find out

I've been looking for Salt and Pepper grinders that don't leave residual salt and pepper all over my counter and these are perfect. They store upside down -- when you use them, you simply turn them over to grind. They have several choices for type of grind but I use the smallest size for salt and the next smallest size for pepper. Since they are an OXO product, I expect them to last a long time. It was a great buy!
