One of the most popular places to see the fruits of creative work is the museum Folk Art of Cancun, known locally as the Museo de Arte Popular Mexicano. Located on the second floor of El Embarcadero Marina in Cancun Hotel Zone Folk Art Museum presents all the traditional Mexican masks and costumes, religious objects and toys made by hand. With nearly 15,000 square feet of exhibition space, the museum is able to tell many stories in both local culture and history of the Mexican people. As you tour the galleries and museums in Cancun, you can also expect to see work inspired by ancient Mayan culture. As the city is located between scores of ancient ruins in the heart of the Riviera Maya, the imagery of the ancient civilization has always found its place in museums and galleries. For Hunters Souvenir and art collectors, the most popular are the experts in Cancun reproductions of works of Mayan art. One of those artists who work in this style is a painter and scholar Miguel Castro Maya.
