Frequently Asked Questions ...
How can people say the polar bear population is increasing?
Every source I find show the population at least since 1977, except in the Davis Strait, has banned the hunting of seals taken off. Even in areas where polar bear hunting is legal, they say the increased birth rate not kept pace with the mortality rates. In addition, the average weight of polar bears is declining. Why should they put the WCU on the endangered list and the U.S. is considering putting them on the endangered list if they so much more? The population was 25 to 40.000 in 1993 and today is 20 to 25.000. Polls I have seen (not yet with any sites that complain about global warming) show the population by 22% since 1980, declined.
Answer:
How can people say that the polar bear population is declining? It has never been a global census of polar bears and given the environment in which they live, it is unlikely it will ever be. It may very well be true that polar bear populations are declining, but I have a shred of empirical evidence that proves A), that polar bear populations worldwide are declining, and B proves) that it in any way related to the global Temperature rise (a controversial issue itself) There are signs of reduced or increased populations are meaningless, because all they do is a little snapshot of what happened one place. It provides no information about what is happening globally to a species, even if it makes for good headlines. A good example are the latest headlines of increased bear populations in the Davis Strait. They seem to want to hunt attribute their growth to changes in the human seal, but there is not a single shred of evidence either to support this assertion. Also Quote population estimates that are located in the U.S. or Canada, is also meaningless without consideration on the population of Greenland, Scandinavia and Russia. How would you know if global warming has a negative impact bear populations without studying the population at the global level? If you really want to know what's wrong with each animal or plant species or the environment these days, you have to by a lot of crap and hype sort. There are many theories and bold statements, but in reality there is not much proven fact.

They are also excellent swimmers and will swim from ice floe to ice floe. They were seen swimming 50 miles of any ice or land. Polar Bear all their lives due to the ice.
