Sunburst Canada ceramics company?

I do not know if a company has heard this, but yesterday I bought a very unique ashtray under very special circumstances and wonder if I can get some information on this company. so far I just know it is a ceramic manufacturing companies by 60 and 70 years in Alberta, which I think is was cool. the piece I have is very unique .. and difficult to describe. its green, a few shades of green. its very big for an ashtray and shaped like a Jelly Bean. the design is just amazing. it looks like waves on the water. Anyway, this song just caught my eye and really nothing about this piece or the company that made it interesting.

General rule: no plastic!

Children need to know the sensation of touch. In those days most toys are plastic - Smooth and uniform. How do you know that means barrel if you've never felt? It is our responsibility as practitioners to give these children experiences in a safe, controlled environment. The treasure basket is full of sensations for the baby, cold and heavy wood or polished. Our role is provide experience and support learning.

How to use the treasure basket having babies were comfortably seated in a circle, with support if they do not sit with confidence in themselves. Practitioners to sit behind the baby, ready to intervene if necessary. Your role is to sit and watch.

The treasure basket is placed in the middle of the circle, so that babies can reach easily inside. Allow them to explore each element. A baby can choose just to play with one, or may look at each element.

Sit and watch.

Practitioners should be watching but not talking. This is a fabulous moment to comment to the profiles / photos journey of learning and decision making. Allow enough time for babies to investigate the whole basket. It could be 45 minutes or an hour! If you feel that something is dangerous intervene.

A word about health and safety

Obviously as a practitioner you do not put your child in danger. Some of these objects can be regarded as potentially dangerous, especially for babies who are still put things in their mouths. You know your children and what you would be happy with their experience. You know which ones still chew first, ask questions later, or see an object as a weapon! This is totally at your discretion.

Items must be cleaned regularly and discarded if broken or considered dangerous.

Treasure baskets should be treated with respect. They are best used perhaps a couple times a week, no more. This means that babies are interested in every time. You can also have several different baskets with a theme such as bright or wood.
