Jackfield pottery is a type of pottery known for its leading position in glossy black enamel-like Japanese lacquer wares black. He was appointed according Jackfield, a town in Shropshire, England where a ceramics factory founded by Richard Thursfield produced remarkable pieces of earthenware earthenware, glazed and decorated with black paint in oil or gold in 1713. Thursfield was succeeded by his son, Maurice, under which the best examples of the craft were made between 1760 and 1772.During 1780, Thursfield pottery products have been sold and transferred to Coalport.
Early examples of pottery can be found Jackfield, Inscribed Jacobite because Shropshire has been a place of refuge for worship.
During the eighteenth century, Jackfield pottery was also manufactured in several other centers known for pottery, as in Staffordshire, by other major names in the history of pottery as Thomas and Josiah Wedgwood Whieldon. It was Whieldon who was credited with promoting making Jackfield wares. In Staffordshire, Whieldon was known for having developed the art of pottery Jackfield, production using a variety of red clay and a glaze with a brighter luster. The black ceramic glazed soon also began to be manufactured Namur, Belgium.
Jackfield pottery is glazed ceramic fired at high temperature, very dense and is usually walled thin. It is usually glazed both inside and outside. Back to its inception in Jackfield, it was originally made of clay black purplish gray. Sometimes, in the examples of pottery with lids, an overview of the color of clay used can be seen. The reasons usually used for decoration were white moldings branch, flowers and scrolls (rolls often bore initials). Jackfield ware became popular as drinking mugs in pubs. Jackfield pottery was also very popular during the Victorian era - between 1837 and 1901. Jackfield pottery was also known through many other nicknames as black Jackfield, Jackfield-type ware jet stream sections Victorian blackware and lacquered items. Although the quality and production of such items was said to have declined after the 1760s, his style was revived during the late nineteenth century and became popular in tea wares and cooking.
