I want to learn ceramics.?
I want to learn how to make pottery using clay. Can I teach myself? Where do I start? I'm not interested in the Plaster of Paris calcareous material. I mean the pots, etc. We offer an art studio here Courses sometimes, but not now. I do not need any and all information on this and I just can not find anything online. Thanks in advance.

There are some excellent books for the beginning potter. When Barnes and Noble or Borders, you can go any number of them. Ceramics Monthly is also a good source of information. If you go to a pottery supply store you can buy everything you need, as far as books, equipment and accessories. Potting soil is very funny and I am sure you willl want to throw on the wheel. You are in South CA you could Aardvark clay workshops in Anaheim. You should Your local community college look. I have a potter for many years and I still take evenning classes at the Riverside Community College in Riverside, CA. The instructors are the best I have ever seen anywhere, the classes are fun. There would also be able, many universities have classes you audit companies (for a loan at a reduced Set). Doing hand-built pottery is easy for beginners and requires minimal equipment. You can change many things by pinching the clay in the form of rolls and coils and assembly using panels made of make a simple rolling pin as what used in the kitchen. It is good to work on a canvas or wood surface. You could keep in a local shop comercial ceramic fired. However, you must go access with a wheel and a kiln to continue. You should Raku pottery, a lot of fun can look like. To access the pot from the oven with red-hot tongs and throw smoke it in a bucket with leaves, which went up in flames in turn reduce the glaze and the pot, if they coverred. Paris Gibson Square is one of the focal points of downtown Great Falls, Montana. The building once served as Central High School, after have been consecrated in 1896. Thirty-four years later he became Paris Gibson Junior High, and has retained that title for 45 years. This means that the building served as a center for education in Great Falls for over one hundred years.
In 1977 the building was renovated by volunteers and is now a National Landmark listed. The community is using the Paris Gibson Square to promote and celebrate art and culture in Great Falls. The building's architecture is elegant, with a stone façade that gives a regal air. The appearance of the building is in direct contrast colorful contemporary art that adorns the inside of seven galleries, and modern sculptures that adorn the gardens. You can benefit from the work of several artists Montana, as well as international artists.
The Paris Gibson Square sponsors several events throughout the year. summer months are perfect for activities in the outdoors, such as July's Garden Walk. Not only will you have the chance to see four of the most beautiful gardens in Great Falls, but you will also a chance to talk to owners and get advice and gardening tips from them!
